4 Tips For Recovering From Vaginal Rejuvenation

Holly Gardner

Women choose vaginal rejuvenation for a number of reasons, such as improving the feeling of sexual intercourse for herself and her partner, repairing the vaginal wall after a difficult child birth, or possibly helping with incontinence issues. If you're considering vaginal rejuvenation surgery, you may be looking forward to the positive results, but may not know what to expect. Continue reading to learn about recovery after a vaginal rejuvenation surgery:

Take Time to Rest

While a vaginal rejuvenation surgery is typically short in length, it is still important to rest as much as possible after the procedure. It is in your best interest to take several days off of work in order to recover. The more rest you get, the better your vagina will properly recover. You should plan on being home and limiting your activity for several days after vaginal rejuvenation.

Pay Attention to Discomfort and Pain

Like any surgery, you may feel pain and discomfort in the days immediately following vaginal rejuvenation. Your surgeon will most likely prescribe pain medication to use for the first few days after surgery in order to keep you comfortable. Make sure that you take the pain medication as prescribed in order to limit discomfort or pain. In addition to using prescription medication, you may also use ice packs on the genital area to help reduce inflammation and discomfort.

Limit Physical Activity

When you schedule vaginal rejuvenation surgery, you should plan on limiting exercise and regular physical activity for a few days. During your recovery period, you should completely avoid vigorous exercise or lifting heavy objects. While the recovery period for vaginal rejuvenation is relatively short compared to other types of surgery, it is in your best interest to take a break from exercise and other vigorous physical activity until you are completely healed.

Abstain from Sexual Intercourse

After a vaginal rejuvenation procedure, you will need to abstain from sexual intercourse for several weeks while your vagina completely heals. Failure to abstain from sex can lead to discomfort, infection, and problems healing. The best thing that you can do after vaginal rejuvenation surgery is give your vagina the time it needs to heal before engaging in sexual intercourse.

Even if you are not experiencing noticeable discomfort or pain after a vaginal rejuvenation surgery, it does not mean that you're ready for sexual intercourse. Before having sex, it is important to have a follow up visit with your surgeon and be told that you have recovered enough to safely engage in sexual intercourse.

Getting Help With My Face

After spending years wondering if I would ever be able to shake a serious skin condition, I finally realized that there had to be something I could do. I began talking with a professional dermatologist about the problem, and it was really interesting to me to see just how much help he was. He walked through all of the various treatments with me and how they would affect my condition, and before I knew it, I was enjoying cleaner, more beautiful skin. I began writing this blog a few years ago in order to help other people around me to live a better life. Check it out!
